About Wright Motorsports
​Wright Motorsports is a race car preparation facility and professional race team, competing in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, GT World Challenge America, Michelin Pilot Challenge, GT America, and the Porsche Carrera Cup North America.
Both amateur drivers and seasoned veterans depend on Wright Motorsports for the finest in Porsche race car preparation. Based in Batavia, Ohio, a suburb of Cincinnati, John Wright and his team have worked with many world-renowned drivers such as Bobby and Terry Labonte, Sebastian Bourdais, Patrick Long, Sascha Maassen, Roberto Moreno, Andy Pilgrim and Lucas Luhr, to name just a few. A certified Porsche factory-trained technician, John has been honored with IMSA's prestigious Technician of the Year Award twice.
Wright Motorsports has worked with some of the best-known teams in sports car racing, such as Doran Racing, TruSpeed Motorsports, Schumacher Racing, Konrad Motorsports, Flying Lizard Motorsports, Brumos Racing, JDX Racing and Schuitemaker Motorsports.
As a crew chief, John has played a key role in winning ten driver and eight team championships in World Challenge, IMSA (ALMS) and Grand-Am. John was also at the helm as Schumacher Racing won the Twelve Hours of Sebring.
Wright Motorsports drivers have earned victory at the Twelve Hours of Sebring, Indianapolis 8 Hour, and podium finishes four times at the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona, and has won back-to-back-to-back IMSA GT3 Challenge championships in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015. Headquartered in Batavia, Ohio, the team recently opened a second location in Stuart, Florida, where not only will some of the professional race cars be housed and serviced throughout the race season, but it will also offer support, service, and preparation for Porsche owners in that hotbed of exotic and GT road cars.
