LONG BEACH, Cali. (April 9, 2025) -- Following a strong start to the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, Wright Motorsports heads west to the sunny shores of Southern California for one of the most iconic stops on the calendar, the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach. The fan-favorite street race never fails to deliver action and intensity and leaves no room for mistakes as the series tackles the tight 1.968-mile, 11-turn circuit that winds through downtown Long Beach.

Piloting the No. 120 Porsche 911 GT3 R in the GTD class, drivers Adam Adelson and Elliott Skeer are seeking redemption after last year’s race ended prematurely for the team. This season, the duo have celebrated successes, opened the season with a pole position and podium run at the Rolex 24 At Daytona. With their eyes firmly on the championship, they currently sit third in the GTD driver standings heading into the first sprint race and the shortest race of the season.

For both Skeer and Adelson, Long Beach is more than just another race,it’s home turf. The pair will have extra motivation to put on a show in front of friends and family, and they with the team have already shown they have the pace and precision to thrive under pressure.

Track time is limited during the weekend, meaning teams need to be sharp from the moment the cars hit the pavement. Practice and qualifying take place Friday, April 11, with the green flag waving for the 100-minute sprint on Saturday, April 12 at 2:05 PM PT. Fans in the United States can catch the action live on Peacock, while international audiences can stream live on the IMSA YouTube channel.

DRIVER QUOTES

Adam Adelson

I really can’t wait for Long Beach, my home race, especially after our race ended prematurely last year. Long Beach is a really interesting track, as it’s a street circuit that has tons of traceability and passing opportunities, which makes it my favorite street circuit (by far). The team have been firing on all cylinders, so I know we’ll have a car to fight at the front with. It’s just about staying clear of the walls and avoiding any on track incidents to give us a good opportunity to fight at the front. I’m confident in our team and Elliott, and can’t wait to show what we should’ve last year!

Elliott Skeer

I’m excited to get back to the home race, especially it being something as special as racing through the streets! It is such a special feeling driving these cars through this environment. It reminds the driver just how fast we are going! Last year didn't go to plan but a lot of promise was shown, really has me looking forward to seeing what another year of progress on our Porsche has to deliver. I know with a well-executed weekend, we should be looking for a strong result.
