BATAVIA, Ohio. (March 18, 2025) – Wright Motorsports delivered another display of perseverance and tenacity in last weekend’s Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, overcoming multiple challenges to secure a top-five finish in the notoriously grueling endurance race. As the second round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the twelve-hour battle tested both man and machine, but the Ohio-based team rose to the occasion, earning valuable championship points in both the full-season GTD class and the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup.
After starting thirteenth on the grid, Adam Adelson opened the race in the No. 120 Porsche 911 GT3 R, putting in a commanding triple stint. He navigated the chaotic early hours with clean, calculated driving, steadily advancing through the field. His efforts brought the car into the top ten before handing it off to Tom Sargent and Elliott Skeer, who worked seamlessly to maintain momentum. Their combined performance pushed the car into podium contention, running as high as third place in the highly competitive GTD class.
As the race entered its final hours, the team faced additional hurdles, dropping back to seventh at one point. However, strategic calls from the pit wall and relentless driving allowed the trio to fight back. In the dramatic final hour, often the most unpredictable stretch of the race, Skeer executed a strong charge, moving the No. 120 Porsche from eighth to fifth, securing a hard-fought finish.
With this result, Wright Motorsports now stands third in the full-season GTD championship points and second in the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup standings. Their consistent performances across the opening rounds have solidified their place as championship contenders as they continue their 2025 campaign.
Next, Wright Motorsports shifts focus to the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach on April 11-12, the first sprint race of the season, where the team will look to carry their momentum into the tight, fast-paced street circuit.

It was a tough start the race. We were struggling with a lot of high speed understeer, and when you have high-speed understeer around a track where there are a lot of high speed corners where you get aero wash, which makes it super difficult to pass. We pretty quickly found out that track position was going to be king, and we struggled with that in a lot of the race. Then, some errors cost us an opportunity to fight for the top step. Regardless, this was a crazy weekend of attrition, from the first practice session all the way to the checkered flag of the race. The way that I'm going to think back on this weekend is how proud I am of the team to stay motivated and persevere through every issue that we had, every piece of adversity that we faced. We still brought home fifth, which is a really good result for us. We’re championship-oriented. We could have tried to gamble and somehow try to make a play but I think we did the right thing, played it, played it smart, and took home a lot of valuable championship points.

It was a big learning day for a fifth place here at Sebring. It was our second year going through it, so we knew some of what to expect, but this race shows you so many new variables every single time. I’m happy with where we ended up with the car going into the race, and the thing just changes so much throughout the day. It's one of the main characteristics of the track. Ultimately, a couple little problems here and there ended up making a possible podium a fifth place result, but ultimately, to come out of here, still very much in the points hunt with another top five, with the issues we had and everything we learned, ultimately, has to be seen as a good day, no matter how we actually feel about the results itself. We have a long season ahead, and really it's just getting started.

The team worked really hard all weekend. We didn't quite have them the best pace, as much pace we wanted, but we worked really hard for it. I'm just a little bit annoyed I made a couple of mistakes. It got us a penalty, which, in the end, probably cost us a podium, which is upsetting, but you live and you learn, and make this better for the future. We received a good bunch of points, at least for the guys to take it to Long Beach. They're in a good position, and hopefully they capitalize on a few more races.
